The 3 I's of Paddling are helpful for whatever type of paddling you take on this Spring, Summer and Fall be in canoeing, kayaking, or Stand Up Paddleboarding in Manitoba.
1. Inquiry: Start inquiring about what your different paddling options are. What kind of paddling do you want to do (canoeing, kayaking, SUP, rafting etc), where do you want to go (which waterway) and when (some waterways you can paddle all season long, some only have a short window).
2. Information: Get your information before you paddle. Depending on what type of paddling you want to do, where you want to go, and when you go, these factors will all influence what information you need to know. Paddle with a friend or group, if you are paddling solo - have the right equipment. Make sure you have the best gear and safety equipment for your paddle experience. MB has some awesome resources for information such as local Paddling Facebook Pages (SUP Manitoba and Kayak Manitoba), Paddle Manitoba, The Manitoba Paddling Association, MEC, Wilderness Supply, Hardcore Surf & Paddle, just to name a few. Don't know where to start - just drop us an email and we can help steer you in the right direction.
3. Instruction: This is where Nature's Edge Tourism comes in. Two to three hours of instruction can be a game changer for making your paddling memories more safe and enjoyable. We promise you won't regret this small time investment. And, if you aren't satisfied that you learnt something valuable with us - we will refund your money. Whether sitting or standing on your board, being able to control your board is the best feeling!
